750 OLD RACING

still under construction!!

This is a page dedicated to racing these bikes, whether in the past, or in the present. These old Guzzis can go fast in the right hands. Guzzi were already famous back in the 20s for their race bikes, culminating in the magnificent V8 Otto Cilindri in the late 50s. But as this site is about Guzzi 750s, we jump ahead to the early 1970s, when the V7 Sport has been under development since the late 1960s, and although Guzzi do not have an official race department, prototypes of the V7 Sport are entered in various endurance races, under the keen eye of Lino Tonti, and Bruno Scola, who was responsible for building these bikes. The development continued well into the mid 70s, with riders like Mulazzani and Sciaresa having much success on Scola-developed 750S's.

Abbondio Sciaresa, middle, prepares to do battle on his 750S racer, surrounded by 2 other 750S's, one ridden by Muluzzani - Misano 1974. Sciaresa came first against Laverdas, Kawasakis and Nortons. Fastest lap too!

Vito Mulazzani, also raced Guzzi 750S's in the Italian Championship 750 class, 1974.
